Ali Hornung found a love for helping others at a young age. She organized her first fundraiser at 12 years old when a classmate was diagnosed was cancer and from there her passion for giving back only grew.
In 2020, Ali started the Glimmer of Hope Foundation in honor of her “little sister” Ella, who passed away from leukemia the year prior. Ella loved American Girl Dolls and wanted every young girl battling cancer to feel confident, strong, and courageous, so she wrote a letter to American Girl asking them to create a bald doll. Since then, Ali has made it her mission to spread Ella’s light by gifting bald dolls to children battling cancer, fundraising for childhood cancer research, lobbying in Washington, D.C. and supporting bereaved families.
